Karajan / Beethoven is a coupling that never stops fascinating music lovers. Deutsche Grammophon’s “Karajan Digital Library” Vol. 24 is entirely dedicated to the Beethoven recordings. The symphonies are represented in up to five different versions from 1941 to 1986, including the legendary first complete recording box in the 1960s (according to its director of heritage Johannes Gleim it was Deutsche Grammophon’s most successful project ever). Of course, there are the two “Missa Solemnis”, the complete overtures, some concertos, dances and many other things.
