Volume 3 of the “Karajan Digital Library” – Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky
Having published the W and V albums in the last two weeks, Deutsche Grammophon continues the “Karajan Digital Library” with a mostly Russian album featuring music by Tchaikovsky and Stravinsky. It contains Tchaikovsky’s complete symphonies, three versions of the first piano concerto, two of the violin concerto, ballet suites, serenades and overtures, Stravinsky’s “Le sacre du printemps” (twice), two symphonies and Karajan’s famous recording of “Apollon musagète”. As a contrast there are also some of the charming overtures by Franz von Suppé. Read more here.
