THE SILVER FIVE EURO COIN FROM THE AUSTRIAN MINT The silver coin shows Herbert von Karajan making one of his typically dynamic gestures. The reverse side of the coin shows a leaf of the score from Beethoven's Ode to Joy, which Karajan newly arranged as a hymn for Europe. The name Herbert von Karajan, his life dates 1908 -1989, and the year of issue are imprinted on the coin.
